Comments:
Two of the areas where my unit camped, An Khe and Hue / Phu Bai were completely devoid of vegetation which is an indication that pre-emergent herbicides were used to keep the camp clear of plants. I remember that during the rainy season I never saw any green plant growing inside our camp. The herbicides did a very good job of keeping the camp clear of plants. The lack of plant growth was an indication of Agent Orange use.

Another Agent Orange source, was our drinking water which was from a 500 gallon trailer mounted water tank. I have always thought the water was pumped into the tank from an adjacent stream, although I can’t be certain about that. I do know that the water was so dirty and tasted so terrible that Orange Kool Aid was added to it to mask its flavor and cloudiness. The water was certainly not from a well and was not filtered. I do suspect that a disinfectant may have been added to it to kill any bacteria or fungi that may have been present. The attached website hyperlink is more than a 100 photos of the guys in my unit and their activities.

Hi just read a email from a 1st Cav brother Mickey Mints and I want to Thank him very much for his service plus I want to add my support of his statement that Heel Spurs would not have kept me out of the service and I think most of our 1st Cav Brothers would feel the same way. Again Thank You for your service and highly intelligent comment.
